Selfless Skincare by Hyram-Is it worth your time?

Sometimes it seems like there's a social media influencer or celebrity skincare line launching every other day, with the celebs zeroing into the market their hair care routines, skincare secrets, and makeup must-haves.

A couple of years back, the word "skinfluencer" wasn't even a part of our dictionaries. Thanks to popular social media platforms, Instagram and TikTok, there's a constantly increasing number of people who have started to make a career out of their prominent social media presence, preferably in the beauty world.

The lineup of Selfless by Hyram:

It is a five-piece lineup that includes an exfoliating serum, gel cleanser, an oil control serum, Retinol, and an everyday moisturizer.

Selfless by Hyram has partnered with Thirst Project and Rainforest Trust, and each purchase will donate to the work of these organizations.

Is Selfless by Hyram worth it?

We've compiled a list of the products and their respective reviews to help reach a decision best suited to your skin. Let's check it out below!

1.       Niacinamide and Maracuja Daily Barrier Support Moisturizer:

This product claims that you can use a small amount of it after cleansing the skin in the morning and evening. It also claims that it reduces the oil and pores on the skin; the maracujá strengthens the skin's barrier and encourages healing in weak or damaged skin; madecassoside soothes sensitive skin; the murumuru butter softens the skin. It's suitable for all types of skin.

Review: The tube is sleek and easy to store almost anywhere. The moisturizer has a lightweight-lotion density that glides onto the skin without being too runny. Without the additional fragrance, the moisturizer's aroma is unpleasant and dirt-like upon application but not noticeable once it soaks into the skin.

After application, the customers haven't noticed the pore and oil reducing effects that the product promises, but the skin feels softer.

2.       Centella and Green Tea Daily Gel Cleanser:

This cleanser claims that it cleans the oil, makeup, and other impurities off the skin without drying it. It also declares to soothe and hydrate the skin, calm and reduce any redness. In the morning and evening, the directions suggest massaging a desired amount into the neck and face before rinsing it with water.

Review: This cleanser has a gel consistency that leaves the skin feeling cleaner and film-free. The product removes all excess makeup, and it whisks away any residue or oil left on the face from the day. It lathers as you massage it into the face but doesn't amount to a thick foam. You can use it around the eyes without causing any irritation.

3.       Mandelic Acid and Rice Bran Exfoliating Serum:

Exfoliating excessively can damage the outermost layer of the skin. Hence only a gentle touch is required. This exfoliant claims to remove dead skin cells, add moisture, exfoliate, control oil production, and keep the pores unclogged. You can apply about three to four drops after cleansing the skin and before moisturizing every other evening, but avoid layering it with Retinol or other exfoliating products.

Review: It's packed in a tube rather than a dropper bottle, which is commonly used for serums. You can squeeze out separate drops. The serum has a water-like consistency and is odorless and transparent.

Customers have noticed no oiliness or sheen on their skin. There was no irritation on the skin upon or after application. If you want to try an exfoliant instead of using a rough scrub, this could be a good option for you to try.

4.       Retinol and Rainbow Algae Repair Serum:

This serum offers a 2% retinol at the prime of its ingredient list, claiming that it can smoothen out the skin and even out the tone. It also declares to hydrate, reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots. You are recommended to apply four or five drops every evening and do not use other exfoliants. It's best to apply this only at nighttime and be careful about applying sunscreen in the morning.

Review:

The customers experienced no irritation when they used it. The formula has an opaque color and consistency that's unscented and easy to spread.

5.       Salicylic Acid and Sea Kelp Pore Clearing and Oil Control Serum:

Hyram's salicylic acid serum is said to unclog pores, control oil production, reduce bacteria, prevent future breakouts, to repair and protect the skin from moisture loss and outside stressors. Shake the bottle before applying three to five drops onto the skin after cleansing every morning.

Review:

The formula is thin, clear, and odorless, just like water.

Customers are curious why Hyram included two gentle exfoliating products that claim similar points and Retinol, which is also exfoliating.

What to like about Selfless by Hyram:

There's been a lot of attention to detail behind this brand and the products. The brand also feels approachable, as it details when, how much, and how often to use the products.

These instructions are simple to follow if you're making a skincare routine for yourself. The squeezable bottles also have numerous tips that you can follow to make the product application as controlled and easy as possible.

What to dislike about Selfless by Hyram:

Sunscreen is the only thing missing from Selfless by Hyram.

After watching Hyram review many SPF products on his social media platforms, with great attention to how easy they blend into the skin and what type of cast they leave behind, many customers and fans of Hyram were surprised to not see sunscreen in the final line.

The other problem is whether you're supposed to include all of these products into your skincare routine. The guess is no, since you're supposed to use the Retinol every evening, but not in sequence with the exfoliating serum, which is recommended for every other evening.

It seems as though customers are forced to choose between these two products. To some people, even skincare fanatics, these products feel like too many to have in their routines.

Should you try Selfless by Hyram?

If you're a Hyram fan, there's no reason to resist. The products feel gentle on the skin, and the packaging assists in the ease of use. None of the products are irritating.

So, is the Hyram collection worth the money? Maybe. The prices are higher than other products, so be mindful when purchasing.
